It would have been better if he caught the shoe and threw it back at the reporter...or if a secret service guy ran and jumped in front of the second shoe

haha... secret service jumping in front of the shoe. That would have been one of the coolest things ever. Something I would expect to see in the Police Squad/Naked Gun series.
