Message Body: RJ45 Network jack does not retain any cables securley. Plugs do go in and make connection, but can be pulled out far enough to loose connection. Issue occurs with any cable we have tried. This isn't a problem unless the laptop is moved around, and being they are used in an active classroom environment, this occurs quite a bit. Please advise path to resolution. Thank you. Please contact only via email or work
phone number.

Their Response:

Hello Steve,

Thank you for using Gateway's Online E-mail Support. I understand from
your e-mail that RJ45 network jack does not retain any cables securely.
Plugs do go in and make connection, but can be pulled out far enough to
loose connection.

Steve, the cause of the issue might be due to the network port lock holder which locks the network cable might be broken or has become widened.

We would suggest you to follow the steps below to connect the network jack on your portable.

Follow these steps to connect the network cable.

1. Insert one end of the network cable into the network connection located on the left side of the computer.

Note: If necessary try to insert a small packaging with the Jack into the network port to lock the jack in the port and secure the connection.

2. Insert the other end of the network cable into a network wall jack.

For more information on connecting the network cable, please click on the URL below.
