Tex, perhaps you can shed some light in this thing.......... WTF is a Leafs?

I've heard of a leaf and I know about leaves, but LEAFS is a new one.

I really hope you're being sarcastic!

If not, I'll explain it to you. Toronto's hockey team is called the Toronto Maple Leafs. Short form = Leafs?

If you're asking why they are not called the leaves (plural form of leaf), it's because they have a single leaf on their jersey and the "s" was added at the end to show multiple (meaning players, not multiple leafs).

Better now? I hope you didn't lose too much sleep over that one Hellish! :D

Toronto Maple Leaves seems like it would be wierd, but I see what you're sayin' Hellish. We're just a little wierd I guess in Canadian or have a poor grasp of the English language.....
