I've gotten a lot of question about my job and what I do so I figured I'd spend a little time and give a quick bio.
I fly for the Univ of North Dakota as a Lead Instructor Pilot. What does this involve? Well actually a lot. Flying is the primary thing but I also am heavily involved in the management of the operation. I have 20 instructors that work under me, and a total of 160 instructors the work for UND Aerospace. If you're interested in the type of operation we run you can visit http://flightops.aero.und.edu and check it out.
My duties as a pilot are as follows. I teach college students usually in the upper level courses (i.e. commercial/instructor ratings). I am also an FAA authorized examiner and I administer checkrides which in turn gets people their private, commercial, or instructor licenses. In addition to that I also serve as an air service pilot that flies administration/president/senators/etc. around the region.
Today I took a student in our Beechcraft Baron (high performance twin) on a training flight and decided I should take some pics and videos so I'll share those with you. They are in quicktime format (crap) but that's what Nikon offers. So enjoy and I hope this answers some of your questions. They are large so be patient.
First on is climing through the clouds and getting on top around 11,000 ft...
