Guys, calm down. I knew it was a joke, but theres NOTHING I can do about it.

When something like this happens, its not in my hands, you have to understand that. Im not sitting here hating JT, and I certainly did not make the decision to ban him for this long.

Unfortunately, stated in the rules at TWL there is a rule that states impersonation of an admin or use of an admin's login gets him a LIFETIME BAN. JT got off on a one year ban soley on the fact that it was merely a forum edit.

I DID NOT MAKE THIS DECISION. When this happens, the higher-ups (Wyldchild) will step in to make a ruling. I, for one, am very surprised you didnt get banned for life considering this.

Artis, before you go spouting your lid on something you really have no idea about lol, I suggest you talk to me about it first, instead of making me out to be the bad guy here.

Furthermore, as stated in JT's email, the one year ban MAY be shortened/lengthened as seen fit by Wyld. But for now, its at one year.

I dont have any bad blood, and you guys should know better than to think I would do this on a whim to any of you, ESPECIALLY JT.

I would also like to state, that Hexum actually knew that JT had my logon, and decided not to tell anyone. If he had told me I would have taken 5 seconds to change my password, and none of this wouldve happened.

Shanks, there was simply nothing I could do. You can look at it either way ya want, in the end a rule was still broken that is EXPLICITLY listed in the rules, and even your clan leader can recognize that.

I have no say in the punishment, and Wyld is only enforcing a LISTED RULE that was broken.

well, i dunno what shanks said, but most of your comments seemed in response to my post...so here goes;

my post was basically out of surprise that mal was banned. I never said cavi is to blame for it, or that cavi didnt explain things. I personally am of the opinion that if nothing malicious happened, it was only a joke, and all parties involved said that they dont want to see mal banned; then his ban should be lifted. I can see why the rule is in place, but I dont think this is the kind of situation that the rule was intended to apply to. I dont really think that what mal did was impersonating an admin. It was playing a joke on a friend ;p Anyways, I dont think anyone is condemning you cavi, I think most of us are just pissed at how inflexible twl seems to be about the fact that it was a JOKE. One year is imo way to freakin long to ban someone for something like this. I see a lot worse things that only get verbal warnings even though they are indirectly violations of twl's posted rules (being fair, non racist, etc). Had JT done this to someone outside of w4r, or fucked with match results or schedules...then I could definately see a perma -ban...but considering this was between clan members and friends, and didn't have an impact on anyone really but me, I just can't see where wyld can justify it. And, if she is that uptight she needs something removed from her gastrointestinal tract...ffs we're not talking about Iran's nuclear weapons factories here...its a gamming ladder.

jt called me and explained a few things to me after he spoke with you and i have a much clearer idea now of what exactly went on to cause the ban/suspension and who should receive my ire.

one key fact is that jt's suspension was done before you were even made aware that anything had happened. while this makes me want to join in on a manwich with you cavi it still pisses me off and let me explain why.

ok, so hoovie was notified of the post and who made the edit which he fixed. it then came to the attention of wyldchild. i have not spoken to her about any of this but from what i hear from numerous people she is a bit harsh to put it mildly. the edit was made of cavi's post. cavi is an admin. ok, did she speak with cavi before a decision was made? no she did not. up until last night (2 days after the edit and fix were made) she thought that jt had hacked into cavi's account and had no knowledge of any friendships or anything else. with this incredible lack of information she still made such a decision. is it just me or are unilateral rules in a business or anything else NOT the best way to handle every situation? the ban was made before these things were found out. that seems to me like an incredibly poor way to handle this.

also, cavi. i agree with you that what jt did was "wrong" but only in the sense of a technicality. was it technically wrong that he edited a post that wasnt his? ya probably but that "wrong" was made worse by this becoming a big deal. the ONLY reason it mattered is because it was an admin's post. had it been just a friend's post it wouldnt have mattered. those responsible for this becoming a big deal deserve to be called out and then this thing can move on.

I think what Mal did was really stupid, but it wasn't malicious. Nor did he do anything harmful where he could have that would warrant a 1 year punishment. However, it's almost hypocrisy on the part of Wyld if you ask me. Cavi had to basically jump up her ass to MAKE her do something about prejudices and sexual harassments on the boards, and that type of thing got a slap on the hands and she "lays down the law" for something like this. I think this speaks volumes. Sorry, but it does and that isn't anything against Cavi or Hoovie, because I think the both of them are great admins, but wow.

Ok well since ex spilled the beans (wasnt really supposed to ... but ya know just keep it local), immediately following Wyld's convo with JT (which included a third leg, myself, also answering and confirming things JT was telling her), she confessed that he would still be banned, just not as long. The SHORTEST time he will have a chance to see is 30 days (one month).

As artis pointed out, JT and I have talked on the phone about it and are in complete understanding with eachother. He understands that although I am his friend, I am also in a position of responsibility, for myself and the community here, and while I see all the humor in what went on, I cant go ahead and say there was nothing wrong with it. JT himself admitted he should have been aware of what he was doing and its potential consequences.

One more thing artis, because you still do not have a knowing of how things went down. Everything happened before I became present, with the exception of the actual banning. A ban for this offence, however, is AUTOMATIC, per the listed community rules at Teamwarfare, PENDING investigation. His ban was not life-time, just one year, because of special consideration on my part and Hoovie's. THAT is going to happen WHILE the investigation procedes, until a final decision is made.

The final decision is what we are awaiting. So its not like what we did was what we planned on sticking, its just a matter of procedure more than anything.
