Level 3 and Cognet are "feuding" and have de-peered meaning they don't directly connect to each other. This could affect your in-game ping times as packets may have to take a different/longer route and possibly cut you off or cause slower traffic from some other people/websites.

and there you have it...I played on the chi server tonight (which I normally ping 50 to) and I was pinging 100. please tell me this will end soon.

lol...like I can tell when corporate feuds will end...

Besides, your ping time could be any of the normal things that make ping times higher. The only way to blame it on the feud would be to compare the traceroute output from weeks ago to one today to that server's IP and see if the traffic is taking a longer/slower route now.
